Katmai National Park

Jump on a plane (a small one!) and head on over to Katmai National Park in Alaska! This is bear country, and not just your average cozy black bear, but this is brown bear country. One of the big draws to visiting Katmai National Park is to make it over to the bear observation platforms and watch them hunt and feast on salmon.

While you can view the bears hunting via webcam, it is really a very different experience seeing it in person. Of course, there are other platforms to watch the bears going through their daily motions as well. Want to be adventurous and go beyond what the average visitor/tourist sees?
