Riding Mountain National Park

In Western Manitoba, surrounded by towns, you’ll find the 733,440 acres (nearly 300,000 hectares for those of you using the metric system) of Riding Mountain National Park. Being the highest point in the area (which makes for great views) and offers upwards of 250 miles of hiking trails.

As you explore Riding Mountain National Park you’ll find grasslands, boreal forests, and deciduous forests; which, when combined with the cool climate, offers plentiful flora and fauna to see. Don’t miss the historic gate or the famous Parks Canada Red Chairs!

Similar to many other Canadian National Parks, vehicle based travel on unpaved roads is hard to come by, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other activities other than hiking. The park also has several lakes within its border which can be used for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Ready to head to the North and see Riding Mountain National Park?
