Mesa Verde National Park
In the southwest corner of Colorado is Mesa Verde National Park. Encompassing 50,000 acres of beauty that will yield you more than just the famous cliff dwellings. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978 and is a fantastic way to learn about the history of the people of the area.
If hiking is your goal, you’ll find over 30 miles of trails throughout the park. Although, if touring at a vehicular pace is more your style, check out Mesa Top Loop Road for a 6 mile history tour. Definitely get out of the car and check out the exhibits along the way though, as that’s where the appreciation and learning really happens.
The big attraction though, are the cliff dwelling tours. Assuming you’ve arrived when they are happening, definitely sign up for one. Need help integrating Mesa Verde National Park into your next trip? Get in touch with us!
