Lava Beds National Monument
Lava Beds National Monument may sound like a rocky place to take a nap, but in fact, it is engaging and full of things to explore and do! Located in Northern California (the real Northern California), its landscape has been shaped over hundreds of thousands of years to include not only volcanic features above the ground, but even has things to explore below the surface!
There are two dozen caves to explore ranging from beginner to expert difficulty, some which can be walked, and others that require crawling almost the entire way through. Prefer to stay on the top side? Then you’ll find over a dozen hiking trails that will showcase historic sites and geological features.
If you’re making the trek to Lava Beds National Monument, it would be a fantastic time to include other local parks such as Crater Lake National Park, Lassen Volcanic National Park, or even Redwood National Park. Don’t want to hit any other parks? Perhaps one of the many countless off-pavement routes through the area is more your style. Either way, contact us to start designing your journey!
