Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route

We’re big fans of the Backcountry Discovery Route (BDR) series. Designed for adventure bikes, nearly all of their routes support 4x4 travel as well, and having routes all around the country with varied technical levels (with bypasses!), they are a fantastic way to get off the beaten path and explore deeper. If you haven’t visited Idaho, it’s pretty easy to get off the beaten path, but the BDR does a great job of taking you through some of Idaho’s most beautiful spots.

Extending over 1,200 miles between Idaho’s border with Nevada and Canada, riding the full length can take up to 10 days. The beauty of these routes come from the ability to (usually) hop on and off with ease, and if you only have 3 or 4 days, you can select a few sections to explore instead.

Don’t plan of completing this route during the winter or spring, and do plan contingencies during the summer due to the possibilities of wildfires. Reach out to us and we would love to design your perfect trip to explore the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route!
