Death Valley National Park

From mountain tops to the lowest place in North America, Death Valley National Park offers visitors all sorts of experiences. Badwater Basin (the lowest point in North America), is virtually a requirement for all visitors, as is a stop by the temperature sign at the visitor’s center in Furnace Creek.

But what about outside the average visit? There’s nearly 100 miles of hiking trails to explore, assuming the weather is hiking friendly! And just shy of 1,000 miles of roads, many of which are unpaved. The unpaved roads vary in difficulty from simply unpaved gravel to those requiring high clearance 4x4 vehicles.
